THE BELIEVER’S ECOSYSTEM

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV)

The believer’s life is an interconnected ecosystem with Christ as its foundation. Just like a tree needs strong roots to grow, our lives need to be deeply rooted in Christ. He is the Source from which your purpose, wisdom, strength, and everything in your spiritual life flows. Just as oxygen is vital for the natural life of a human being, prayer is essential for spiritual life and it fuels and sustains your spiritual ecosystem by allowing you to remain connected to God.

Through prayer, we invite God into every area of our lives; we receive guidance, and find strength for daily living. The Bible underscores the importance of prayer. Even Christ, while on the earth prayed earnestly and fervently, and so the believer must also make prayer a lifestyle (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

It is important to understand that the believer’s spiritual ecosystem is nourished by the Word of God and anchored on our ability to walk in love. The Word is our Source of daily sustenance which gives us the needed wisdom and direction to live and succeed in every area of our lives. Succeeding alone is good, but it is better to walk and work as a spiritual family. Just as ecosystems thrive on how connected each element is to each other, believers are designed to live in a community, and not in isolation. (John 15:5).

For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’
