THE JOY OF OUR FAITH
“Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” (1 Peter 1:8 KJV)
Faith is the foundation of Christianity and it is a crucial element in our relationship with God. The Bible says by faith we were saved through grace. Our salvation was hinged on accepting the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and proclaiming His Lordship over us. It is also by faith that we perform our daily walk with God while anticipating the fulfilment of His promises.
As we see in our opening scripture, faith brings so much joy into the life of a believer. This joy does not depend on our circumstances but flows from trusting and knowing God. For us, joy is not a mere fleeting emotion but a lifestyle that shows our resolute stand on the Word and promises of God regardless of the success we experience or the difficulties we may face.
When you develop the habit of exhibiting faith through our words, thoughts and actions, you begin to exhibit the character of God. You bring God into the scene and He shows up for you consistently because a joyous heart always carries God with them wherever and whenever. Your trust in God leads to a joy that surpasses understanding; a joy that lifts your spirit and makes you assured of what eyes have not seen, what ears have not heard or even what is yet to be conceived in the hearts of men but God is revealing them by His sweet Spirit daily. Experience joy in your faith walk!
