MORE THAN CONQUERORS
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37 KJV).
As Christians and children of God, our daily experiences can make us forget the riches availed to us by virtue of adoption into God’s kingdom. One scripture that serves to remind us of this clearly is Romans 8:37. The preceding two verses (Romans 8:35-36) describes how none of these experiences can separate us from the love of Christ.
What we see in Romans 8:37 is that it does not just say that we are conquerors, it says we are more than conquerors. Conquest by its very nature involves strife and battles and battle scars. Being more than conquerors implies that we need not strife, we need not battle or as said in colloquial terms, we don’t “hustle” to have victory, as we already have this sweatless victory in Christ.
Essentially we live this reality through our faith in the works of Christ; whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. Therefore we go about life doing what our hands have found to do diligently with an understanding that we already have victory over challenges before they come.
Scripture for the day
1 John 5:4 KJV
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
