HAS GOD FORGOTTEN TO BE MERCIFUL?

“Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” (Psalms 77:9 NIV)

In times of distress, feelings of abandonment and despair can overwhelm us. The psalmist wrestles with a profound question: has God forgotten His mercy? This inquiry reflects a deep struggle that many believers experience during their darkest moments. When faced with challenges, it can feel as if God’s compassion has vanished, leaving us to grapple with our fears, anxieties and uncertainties.

Doubt often creeps in when we encounter hardships. Just as the armies of Israel trembled at Goliath’s taunts, we too may falter when life’s giants tower over us. In our vulnerable moments, we might question God’s intentions, wondering if He has turned away in anger. This battle is not just external; it’s an internal struggle where our faith is tested.

Instead of succumbing to despair, let us declare God’s promises. Speak His truth over your circumstances: He is merciful, His compassion never fails, He is with us in every trial. He’s too faithful to fail. Hallelujah!
