GODLY PATIENCE

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”  (Ephesians 4:2 NIV)

Patience is a virtue that many of us struggle to cultivate, especially in a world that demands instant gratification. Yet, God calls us to embody patience as a reflection of His character. In times of waiting—whether it’s for answers to prayer, resolutions to problems, or healing from pain—we often find our faith tested.

Consider the example of Job, who faced immense suffering yet remained steadfast in his faith. His patience was not passive; it was active, filled with hope and trust in God’s ultimate plan. In James 1:3-4, we are reminded that “…the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

As we navigate our daily lives, let us embrace patience not merely as a waiting period, but as an opportunity for growth. Each moment of waiting is an invitation to deepen our relationship with God, relying on His timing rather than our own. Patience builds faith, handles issues with grace and wisdom instead of anger,  in Jesus’ Name.
