FAITH IN TIMES OF TRIALS

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. (James 1:2-4 KJV)

Trials, sometimes, can feel like storms that threaten to overwhelm us. In these moments, remember that Jesus is with you, able to calm the storm with a word. Reflect on a current or past trial where you felt overwhelmed. Trust that Jesus is in control and can bring peace to your situation. In times of trial, our weaknesses become more apparent. However, it is in our weakness that God’s strength is most evident. Reflect on an area of weakness in your life. Ask God to show His strength in that area and to use your trials to demonstrate His power and grace. It is written,  0⁰“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

God promises to work all things together for our good, even the trials we face. Reflect on a challenging situation and remind yourself of God’s promise. Trust that He is using this trial to shape you and fulfil His purpose in your life. Trials are opportunities for growth and the development of perseverance. Reflect on how a current or past trial has helped you grow in faith and character. Choose to find joy in the process, knowing that God is refining you and making you stronger.

Scripture for the day

Confession

Lord, help me to see trials as opportunities for growth and to find joy in the midst of them.
