ETERNITY IN YOUR HEART
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT)
There are different kinds of life and the one in each living thing is what determines how it exists and functions. Plants have their own kind of life, so also do animals, and human beings. A tree can be affected by a lot of things but it can never have malaria or die by being shot with a bullet. This is because it is a tree and it carries plant life.
The kind of life in a thing determines how it lives and how it is affected. There is a kind of life called eternal life (zoe), which is the life and nature of God. God cannot be sick neither can He lie. He is righteous, He is love and He is good. These and much more are found in the life of God and He has given this life to everyone who believes in Jesus Christ.
You received eternal life from God by faith in Christ (John 14:6). The bible also says in Romans 6:22-23 (NIV) that, “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.” This means that you qualified for eternal life because Christ made it so on account of your acceptance of His Lordship. Never forget that you are made to enjoy eternity with your Father, Who is in heaven, here on earth.
