                                                      BE CONSISTENT

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, being steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV)

It takes faith to remain consistent in this very largely inconsistent world that we live in. The opening scripture admonishes us to stand firm. We need to declare and apply the Word of God. Jesus never said everything will go smoothly. In John 16:33 Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” He knows that this life will be filled with ups and downs but His assurance is that He has overcome them and has given us the power to do the same.

Times may be changing, the values of men may shift but be unwavering, be consistent in the virtues of righteousness. We are living in a time where people are largely self-centred, where their god has become their belly but we should not be counted among such, because we have been called into His marvellous light.

In every sphere of life where we find ourselves, know that your life is communicating possibility (what you are doing) to others. You may feel weary, and disappointed but the psalmist encourages us not to give up, to wait on the Lord and to be of a good courage and we will never be disappointed.
