APPLY YOURSELF
“Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field.” (Matthew 13:31 KJV)
Jesus compared the kingdom of God with the planting of seed and reaping the harvest. It is such a simple concept, however, there are some essential things you must do by faith if you want to have a bumper harvest. First, you must sow the seed of the Word in faith expecting it to grow. The Bible is full of many promises from God, be it on prosperity, health and healing, protection, fruitfulness etc. Your duty as a Christian is to identify these promises from scriptures and appropriate them into your life through prayers, belief and confession.
Next, you must water the seed of the Word of promise with praise and thanksgiving. Regardless of the circumstances, you must determine to thank God continually. The Bible says in Psalm 67:5-7 that praise attracts blessings. When you praise God enough, what others pray for will become fringe benefits to you.
And finally, you have to prevent the weeds of unforgiveness, doubt, fear, worry, discouragement and the likes from growing. The goal of the weeds is to choke the seed and prevent it from growing and blossoming to its full potential. Keeping the weeds out requires diligence on your part, in the form of a daily renewed mindset, positive words of encouragement and affirmation to your life and destiny. You have your part to play in the equation of your destiny. God will not do for you what He has given you the capacity to do for yourself. Commit to doing your part and trust God to do His part. You are enabled!
