SOURCE AND SUSTAINER

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:16-17 KJV)

Jesus Christ is the ultimate Source of all things that exist, from the cosmos to the birds, the plants, creeping things and man. Everything that has life got it from our Maker. The interesting thing is that Christ not only creates, but also sustains. In the story of creation, we see how all things He created was made in a methodical fashion such that none of them was left without what to thrive on.

God is very intentional about His creation, most especially man. All of our needs find their origin in Christ, be it emotional, physical or spiritual. When we acknowledge Him as our Source, we align ourselves with the reality that our fulfillment and purpose come from Him alone. Our acknowledgement of God further instills in us the belief that our existence is divinely orchestrated by Him.

It is normal for us humans to face difficulties and challenges. We sometimes often feel overwhelmed by problems or uncertainties to the point that our faith can be shaken. Yet, the truth is that Christ, our Sustainer, assures us that He is working all things out for our good, including the situations and circumstances surrounding our lives. His sustaining power means that even when you cannot see how things will work out, you can trust that He is at work and that everything will ultimately work out for your good.
