SERVING OTHERS WITH LOVE

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Galatians 5:13-14 KJV)

Jesus emphasized that loving God and loving others are the greatest commandments. Serving others with love flows naturally from a heart that loves God. Reflect on how your love for God influences your actions towards others. Consider ways to show love to those around you, making service a natural expression of your faith. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45 NIV). Jesus, the Son of God, came to serve rather than be served. His life is the ultimate example of selfless service. Reflect on Jesus’ humility and willingness to serve others. Ask God to help you follow Jesus’ example, serving others with humility and a selfless heart.

There is joy and blessing in serving others. When we give of ourselves to help those in need, we experience a deeper sense of fulfilment and joy. Reflect on a time when you served someone and felt blessed in return. Commit to seeking opportunities to serve others and experience the joy that comes from giving.

Serving others with love means approaching them with compassion and kindness. Reflect on how you can clothe yourself with these virtues as you interact with others. Ask God to help you serve with a heart full of compassion, showing kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience in all you do, as it is written, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12 NIV).
