RENEWING YOUR MIND
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 KJV)
In a world that constantly bombards us with distractions, it can be easy to lose sight of what truly matters. The culture around us often promotes values that are contrary to God’s Word: materialism, self-centredness, and temporary pleasures. But as followers of Christ, we are called to something higher.
Paul’s words in Romans 12:2 challenge us to reject the patterns of this world and instead be transformed by renewing our minds. This renewal is not a one-time event; it’s a continuous process of aligning our thoughts, desires, and actions with God’s truth.
When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, spend time in prayer, and surround ourselves with godly influences, our minds begin to change. We start to see the world from God’s perspective, discerning His will and making choices that honour Him. This transformation leads to a life that is not only pleasing to God but also filled with His peace and purpose.
Scripture for the day
Romans 12:2 KJV
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Confession
I am transformed by God’s Word, and I will walk in His will, embracing the peace and purpose He has for me, in Jesus’ Name.
