THE MYSTERY OF SMALL STEPS
“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?” (2 Kings 7:3 KJV)
In 2 Kings 7, we see the story of four lepers standing at the city gate during a time of great famine and desperation. They were faced with two choices: stay where they were and face death or take small but significant steps that might still lead to death or probably life. However, their decision to go into the enemy camp of the Syrians led to their safety and preservation.
It is often said that small droplets of water make a mighty ocean. In this kingdom, taking a small step in faith often yields great results. In 2 Kings 4, Prophet Elisha commanded the widow to tilt her small jar of oil into the borrowed vessels, and the miracle happened as she obeyed, leading to multiplication of oil. A history of indebtedness dating back to when her husband was alive became a thing of the past on account of her faith in the prophet’s instruction to take the step of borrowing vessels and filling them.
Could it be that you are yet to experience the fullness of your life’s potential because of cold feet? Are you stuck because you believe that staying in your comfort zone is better than launching into the unknown? It is high time you realize that risk-takers often make progress in life. The only risk you should avoid is the risk of doing nothing. That small step could be your ticket to your next level.
Scripture for the day
Psalm 37:23 KJV
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
